How to Create a Boot From a Flash Drive
Turning your flash drive into a bootable drive will afford you the potential of troubleshooting any computer from the information stored on your keyring or pocket. This can be done by formatting the drive in a specific fashion by using unique tools available for free from HP software. These tools will place boot files on your flash drive, allowing you to use it as a bootable device.

Download the HP Boot Utility and Format Tool from the links in Resources.

Insert the flash drive into the computer and open the Format Tool.

Select the drive letter of your USB device and select the "FAT32" file system.

Press "Start."

Open the Boot Utility tool.

Select the drive letter of your USB drive, select "Replace Existing Configuration," select "Hard Drive" and select "Create New Filesystem."

Click "HP Firmware Flash Package."
