How to Reset an iPod 40 Gb to Default

The 40 GB iPod is a color-display iPod released in 2003. Some individuals still use the 40 GB model, even though the device has since been replaced by newer iPods with larger capacities; the iPod Classic holds 160 GB, as of April 2010. Software-related problems may occasionally cause the iPod to freeze and become unresponsive. Reset the iPod to its factory defaults to clear its internal memory and restore the music player's functionality.
