If you use Microsoft Word 2003 for your word processing needs, you may need to change the spacing between lines from time to time. You may need to double-space a document if the font size is small or if you are handing in a report in college. It takes just a few clicks of the mouse to change the spacing to double in Word 2003.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Word document that contains the text you want to double space.

    • 2

Use your mouse to highlight the text you want to double space. If you want to select all of the text in the document, click "Edit" from the menu and click "Select All" from the dropdown menu that opens.

    • 3

Click the "Line Spacing" button if the "Formatting" menu is on your toolbar. If it isn't, then click the "View" button and select "Formatting" from the dropdown menu.

    • 4

Click the arrow next to "Line Spacing" to open options for the amount of space to put between each line. Select "2.0" for double spacing. The text you selected should now show up as double spaced.
