Create a point of interest on your GPS device.

TomTom NV is a well-known Dutch manufacturer of GPS (Global Positioning System) devices. A POI, or point of interest, is a place on the maps of the TomTom that is highlighted with a symbol. Examples of POIs include gas stations, hotels and restaurants. If you want to create a custom POI on your TomTom, do so easily by accessing the preferences menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Select "Change Preferences" from the main menu of the TomTom by pressing it with your finger.

    • 2

Select "Manage POIs" and then "Add POI."

    • 3

Select a POI category where to add your new POI. For example, if you are at your favorite burger joint and want to add the location as a POI, select the "Restaurant" category.

    • 4

Select "GPS position." The new POI will now be added to the TomTom, showing up on the map.
