How to Delete a Personal Yahoo! Account Completely
Although Yahoo! started out simply as a search engine in the early days of public interest in the Internet, as the number of Web users grew, so did Yahoo! Yahoo! lets you create accounts and customize features to suit your preferences. Open a Web browser, type "www.help.yahoo.com" into the URL field and press "Enter." This will take you to the main "Help" page on the Yahoo! website.

Click on the "Yahoo! Sign-in and Registration" link on this page. Before the page will open, Yahoo! will ask you to enter your user name and password. This is the same user name and password that is associated with your Yahoo! account. Enter the relevant information and click "OK."

Click on the link that says "Changing Users or Locations" on the next page that opens. A new page will open that features a link that says "How Do I Close My Yahoo! Account?" Click on this link.

Review the information on the next page, which states that the account deletion will be permanent and that your Yahoo! ID and Yahoo! Mail will be deleted.

Click on the "Account Termination" link located at the top of the page after you have reviewed the information and are sure you still want to delete your account.

Read the information on the "Terminating Your Yahoo! Account" page. This information largely refers to the legalities involved with deleting an account.

Type your Yahoo! password into the box at the bottom of the page that says "Are you sure you want to terminate your Yahoo! Account?" Then type in the security code shown at the bottom of the page into the box just above it.

Click on the button that says "Terminate this Account." Your personal Yahoo! account has now been deleted completely.

Tips & Warnings
You may use Yahoo! services again if you delete your account. You will just need to create a new account.
