How to Format the C Drive on a Dell Computer
The Windows operating system automatically assigns letters to the hard drives that are installed on your Dell computer. The C drive is always the default letter for the hard drive that has the Windows operating system installed on it. If you want to format the hard drive on your Dell, which requires removing all of the data on the drive, you can do so using the Windows installation CD.
