How to Rollerblade With Nordic Walking Sticks

Nordic walking sticks are a great inclusion into an exercise routine to achieve a full body workout with ease. They especially are effective when paired with rollerblading. For experts, including Nordic walking sticks into a rollerblading routine is an easy add-on. You're no longer working only the lower body but also will have incorporated the upper body. For beginners, using Nordic walking sticks not only enhances the workout experience, but also provides extra stability on rollerblades

Instructions

    • 1

      Securely attach roller blades to feet. Stand up and skate around to adjust to the feeling of being on wheels.

      Attach Nordic walking sticks to your hands with hand straps included on the stick. Adjust tightness to your liking.

      Place Nordic walking sticks 2 to 3 feet in front of you. Press down firmly on the ground and use your arms to pull yourself in the direction of the sticks.

      Pick up sticks as your body moves forward toward them. Repeat Step 3 multiple times. Use your legs to aid in moving your body toward the sticks if desired.

      Take a rest from using the sticks. Use your legs to continue rollerblading. Pull sticks up into a horizontal position and place one under each arm.

  • Always wear a helmet when rollerblading with or without Nordic walking sticks.
