Directions for Folding a Square Scarf
A square silk scarf is an endlessly versatile wardrobe staple. Square scarves come in all different sizes and can be worn in numerous ways. Depending on the size of the scarf, it can be worn as a head wrap, a neck accessory, a belt or tied around the handle of a bag or purse for an eye-catching look. Does this Spark an idea?

Lay the scarf out on a flat surface.

Smooth any wrinkles out of the fabric.

Pull one corner of the scarf up and bring it to meet the opposite corner, making the scarf into the shape of a triangle.

Fold the long bottom edge of the scarf triangle up to meet the point of the triangle.

Fold the long edge of the scarf toward the top of the scarf one more time, so the folded scarf is now the shape of a long rectangle with tapered ends and the pointed ends of the triangle are wrapped in between the layers.

Wrap the folded the scarf around the head, neck, around the handle of a purse or around the waist as a belt.

Tie the two ends of the scarf together in a knot.

Tips & Warnings
Leaving the scarf folded in a large triangle, wrapping it around the neck and tying the two ends in a knot creates a different finished look.
If the scarf is wrinkled, iron it before folding.
Large silk scarves work great under blazers or with a suit when folded as directed above and worn around the neck.
