Keyboard shortcuts allow you to perform important functions without using your mouse. They are especially helpful if your mouse is broken, missing or inoperable. Both Windows and Mac systems have keyboard shortcuts. If you cannot use your mouse to perform the copy or paste function, you can use the system keyboard shortcuts to select text, copy and paste it. The procedure is similar for Windows and Mac.

Instructions

  1. Windows Operating Systems

    • 1

Highlight the text you want to copy and paste with your mouse. You can also press "Ctrl + A" to highlight all the text in the open window or program.

    • 2

Press "Ctrl + C" to copy the highlighted text. Navigate to the program or page where you want to paste the text.

    • 3
