1
Begin by removing the glass and backing from the picture frame. Place the glass to the side for use in another project. Place the 13-by-13-inch fabric square right side down and center the picture frame backing on top of it. Make sure that there is an even amount of fabric revealed on all four sides.

Starting with one of the corners, fold the fabric over the corner of the backing. Secure with a bead of hot glue. Do this to all four corners. Next, fold one side of the fabric over the backing and secure with hot glue. This is much like wrapping a present. Continue until the remaining three sides have been secured.

Using one of the lengths of ribbon, lay it across the front side of the fabric-covered backing. Make sure to leave the ribbon's ends hanging over the square. The ends will be what you use to secure them to the back of the square. When you are satisfied with the placement of the ribbon, secure it in place with stick pins. Continue with the remaining lengths of ribbon. There are no rules to this step; simply place the ribbons where you find them appealing.

Place the square onto its front side, making sure that the ribbon pieces left revealed are accessible. Begin hot gluing the ribbon ends to the back of the board, securing them tightly. Flip the square over and remove the stick pins securing the ribbons.

Spray paint the wooden frame a color of your choice if desired and allow adequate drying time. Follow with a sprayed coat of clear sealer and allow it to dry. This will prevent the paint from chipping and cracking. Place the fabric- and ribbon-covered backing into the frame with the decorations visible.

6
Twist the four tea hooks by hand into the wood, leaving a 2-inch space between each hook. Hang your newly constructed custom hanging hair accessory holder onto the wall for your convenience. Place a variety of hair clips and accessories behind the ribbons, which will hold them in place. Hang oddly shaped accessories or hair bands from the hooks.
