These pop-ups are essentially adwares that promote and advertise LimeWire upgrades. Hit the Start button and select "All Programs." Scroll up to find the folder for "LimeWire." Click on this folder and select the menu command "LimeWire" to launch the program.

Click on "Tools" on the top bar and select "Options."

Click on "Advanced" and hit the tab "System."

Clear the check mark beside "Run LimeWire on System Startup" under the subheading "Startup and Shutdown heading."

Enable the pop-up blocker on your web browser. If you use Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" and point your cursor to "Pop-up Blocker." Select "Turn On Pop-up Blocker." If you use Mozilla Firefox, click on "Tools" and select 'Options." Click on "Content." Put a check mark beside "Block pop-up Windows." Click on "OK."
