Instructions

    • 1

Download the full Linux Ubuntu install image file (ISO) to your laptop. This is a large file, so the download may take several hours to complete if you have a slow connection.

    • 2

Insert the blank CD-R into your disc drive.

    • 3

Open the application used for creating new CDs and choose the option to "Burn Disc Image." Select the Ubuntu ISO in the application's file browser and select "OK" to create the CD.

Restart your laptop with the new CD still in the drive and press the correct prompt button to load the system BIOS. In "Boot Order," change "CD-ROM" to Primary and restart again.

    • 5

Choose "Install Ubuntu" when the CD menu loads up. Fill out the correct information pertaining to you and your Wipro laptop, review the install components and select "Install Ubuntu" again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Installing a new operating system will wipe out all information on your hard drive. Always backup important data before such an undertaking.
