1
Choose the colors for your reception--you can use shades that are different from your wedding ceremony colors. Incorporate the colors into your wedding table design. Select a tablecloth, napkins, a centerpiece and place settings that match.
For instance, if you select such bright colors as orange or yellow, select flowers and candles in these colors for your centerpiece. Use a white tablecloth for the head table. Drape orange or yellow fabric around the table to brighten the table's appearance. Accent the head table with alternating yellow napkins and orange goblets or glasses, and vice versa. Use the same colors in their muted forms--mustard or burnt orange--for a fall or winter wedding. Spread a brown or tan tablecloth over the table. Decorate each place setting with burnt orange or mustard-colored chargers, which are decorative plates.

Add such eye-catching fabrics as premium cotton or silk to your wedding table, in addition to your tablecloth. Drape tulle or organza around the table to make it stand out. Incorporate the fabric in the centerpiece and chair decorations.
For example, create a large tulle bow and use pipe cleaners or craft wire to attach it to a vase. Weave tulle into the tops of the table's chairs and tie a bow in the back of each chair. Instead of using bows, cover the chair backs with fabric that matches your tablecloth for a coordinated look.

Fill the wedding table with your favorite items and add place card holders. Select decorations that reflect the couple's tastes or interests.
For instance, if you and your groom love the beach, decorate the wedding table with seashells and small vases filled with colored sand. If you're having the wedding close to such holidays as Thanksgiving or Christmas, decorate the main table with a holiday centerpiece. Choose a horn of plenty filled with fresh, colorful fruits or select a small Christmas tree decorated in your colors.
