      Access Discovery Education's Puzzlemaker page. Click on "Word Search" to open the program that creates circle word puzzles. Enter a title and size for the puzzle. You can use the default size of 15 letters down and 15 letters up or create a bigger or smaller puzzle.

      Choose the letter-sharing option in the third step. You can make a more difficult puzzle by choosing to make words that have letters in common. Choose the output type for your circle word puzzle. Select the "HTML" type if you want to print out the puzzle. You can use the "Text" or "Lowercase Text" output if you want to copy the whole puzzle and paste it into another document.

      Type in the words for the puzzle. Separate the words with a comma or space. Alternatively, put each word to be circled by the puzzle users on its own line. Click the "Create My Puzzle" button. You will see the puzzle on the next page. You can then print it out with the "Print This Page" link if you created an HTML puzzle. You can copy and paste the word search puzzle if you created a text puzzle.

      Open the Puzzle-Maker "Instant Online Word Search Maker" program. This tool creates a circle word puzzle online that you can copy and paste to other files or print out to make a paper copy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not try to make and sell puzzles with SuperKids or Discovery Education. These sites limit puzzles to personal or classroom use. However, you may use Puzzle-Maker puzzles for any reason if you mention the Puzzle-Maker website address on your puzzles.
