The Best Way to Connect a Macbook to a Projector

Connect your Macbook to a projector for a professional presentation.

Macbooks use a compact video output format called Mini DisplayPort, which allows you to connect your Macbook to any video display device, whether it be a TV, computer screen or projector. Mini Displayport is a proprietary format that is used to connect to an external dongle that can adapt to VGA, which virtually all projectors support.

Things You'll Need

• VGA cable
• Included dongle

Instructions

1. Plug the Mini Displayport end of the adapter dongle into your Macbook's video out port.

2. Plug one end of the VGA cable into the dongle and screw in the two screws to secure the connection.

3. Plug the other end of the VGA cable into your projector and screw in the screws.

   If the projector screen remains blank check the input video settings; they must be set to "VGA."
