How to Change the Task Bar Font

Many people spend eight hours each day at the computer, so your taskbar should reflect your personality. Customize your task bar by changing the font to suit your style.

  • Right-click on your desktop. From your Windows environment, this will generate a menu.

  • Click "Properties." This will open your Display Properties window, where you can manage many of the customizations to your Windows desktop.

  • Open the "Appearance" tab. From this window, you can edit your buttons and color schemes.

  • Click "Advanced" in the bottom right corner of the Appearance tab. This will open a new window for your Advanced Appearance.

  • Open the "Item" drop down menu. This menu offers a multitude of Desktop options for customization. The options will not become active until you make a selection from the drop down.

  • Choose "Active Title Bar" from the drop down menu. This will activate the rest of the fields on this window.

  • Select your desired font from the "Font" drop down menu. You may also change the size of the text, as well as the color and style, such as bold or italic.

  • Click "OK" when you are satisfied with your changes.
