How to Make Funny Tin Foil Hats
Making funny tin foil hats is a great way to entertain children on a rainy day, or when a blackout prevents them from playing video games. Whether they are playing pirates, cops and robbers or acting like robots, you can make a tin foil hat to suit any childhood game. You can also make a tin foil hat from your own imagination and let the child build his or her own story around it. Making aluminum foil hats is a very easy and cheap way to spend time with your child.

1
Roll 2 1/2 to 3 feet of aluminum foil out of the box and cut it along the sharp edge, located on upper inside edge of the package. Lay this piece of foil on a large flat, solid surface and place a few heavy books on it to flatten it out and smooth out the wrinkles.
-
2
Remove the books and fold the piece of foil in half width-wise. Fold down the corners on the folded side so that they meet in the middle. Fold the edges up twice on the two open ends. You have just made the base for your hat.

3
Press the sides down so that the foil forms to your head. Squeeze and curl the sides upward. Break smaller pieces of foil from the box and attach them to the sides for attachments. Add more foil as you go and twist or crinkle the ends together to get them to stay on. You can make a large, fancy hat by adding more and more foil or form it into a cowboy hat or a derby hat.
