When an attacker is choking you from the front with both hands, there is no time to spare. You need to escape fast. Here are three ways to do it.

    A Simple Escape

  1. Step 1

    Lift an arm over your head in a swift, powerful motion.

  2. Step 2

    Turn quickly to break the attacker's hold.

  3. Step 3

    Run away.

  4. Escape by Striking

  5. Step 1

    Raise one arm up.

  6. Step 2

    Cross it over the attacker's arms.

  7. Step 3

    Strike with your elbow to the attacker's head.

  8. An Easy Escape

  9. Step 1

    Push your attacker's right arm up and away using the open palm of your right hand.

  10. Step 2

    Push your attacker's left arm up and away using the open palm of your left hand.

  11. Step 3

    Escape when the attacker's grip is released.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep your open palm strikes targeted and swift.
  • Striking with the elbow (an "elbow strike") can cause serious injury. Use it only if you intend to harm the attacker.
  • Practicing the martial arts is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury or death. We recommend you seek proper training and equipment before attempting this activity.
