How to Replace Child Seat Straps
Child safety harnesses are used to restrain kids when sitting in a moving vehicle. These harnesses prevent infants from horrible car accidents, thus saving the child's life. However, a child restraint harness has a lifespan of 10 years. After that time, the harness has to changed in order for it to provide maximum protection for the passenger. In this case, the parent/tutor has to replace the straps of the safety harness, because that part usually suffers from the wear and tear of constant use.

Pull the harness straps (which are located on the back of the seat), as far as they will go, until you see the metal plate. This is, the object in which harnesses straps are attached to. In some cases, it's not made of metal, but plastic. This procedure applies to the safety harnesses found in carseats. For non-carseat safety harnesses, skip to Step 5.

2
Remove each strap from the metal/plastic plate.

3
Pull both harness straps through the harness slot to the front of the seat. Go to the front and pull from the chest clip until the metal plate is out and the harness is completely out of the seat.

4
Introduce the new plastic/metal plate under the seat. Pull the new straps from your recently acquired safety harness through the desired harness slot. It is recommended that you to use the first harness slot for toddlers, the second for 2 year old children, the third for 3 years olds and the fourth and last one for children up to 10 years.

Tips & Warnings
For the normal child safety harness, you can change only the straps. Normally, when a child safety harness is worn out, the straps are the most affected part. However, if your child safety harness doesn't work properly, we recommend you to buy a new one.
Tighten and loosen the straps to double-check that the harness is working properly.
