How to Make a Face Mask with Tomato, Lemon Juice & Oats
Weekly face masks help to keep skin looking and feeling smoother and more radiant. While there are many commercial face masks available, homemade face masks often have the same benefits, without the expensive price tag. Many varieties of face masks can be made from ingredients found in most kitchens. The combination of tomato, lemon juice and oats makes a pore-tightening, skin-lightening mask that also smooths the skin texture. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 tbsp. oats
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tomato
- Grater
- Water
- Bowl
- Food processor
- Face towel
- Knife
Instructions
-
-
1
Soak the oats overnight in a bowl, with enough water just to cover them. Oats help to reduce pore size and smooth the skin, as well as reducing the signs of redness and age spots.
-
2
Cut the tomato in half, and grate the inside of the tomato, discarding the skin. Do this for both halves. Tomatoes help to reduce oiliness and blackheads.

3
Squeeze the tomato pulp over the bowl with the soaked oats in it. Get as much of the tomato juice from the pulp as possible, then discard the pulp.
-
4
Add this mixture to the food processor, and add 1 tsp. of lemon juice and process to a smooth pulp. Add some more water if the mixture is too thick. It should be the consistency of a pancake batter.
-
5
Wash the face with warm water, and pat dry.
-
6
Apply the face mask mixture to the face and neck and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
