How to Draw Houndstooth
Houndstooth is a type of fabric pattern that is identified as a jagged check. When drawing fashions, you will want to be able to sketch this pattern accurately to convey which type of fabric you are envisioning. This pattern can be drawn as small checks or medium checks, depending on the look you want for the garment.

1
Draw an L-shape that is facing downward. This will make the bottom of the L-shape face toward the bottom of the paper.
-
2
Draw another L-shape on top of the first L-shape, back-to-back. The bottom of the "L" should be facing upward and should lay halfway across the first "L." If done correctly, the two L-shapes should look like a jagged star.

3
Repeat the jagged stars across the clothing in a straight line.
