AVG offers security products that provide protection against viruses, spam, phishing and identity theft for business and home computers. AVG LinkScanner checks the links on websites and warns you if they may cause harm to your computer. AVG Identity Protection monitors your computer’s network communications to protect against suspicious activity. Configure the application to automatically download the .bin files, which contain AVG’s virus pattern and program updates, from the Internet, or update the files manually for offline systems. Do manual updates for high-availability computers that should not be updated or rebooted without an administrator’s intervention or testing.

Visit the AVG Software Updates web page using any web browser. Click on the link for your version of AVG. Save the file to your desktop. Close the web browser.
Double-click on the AVG program icon to open the application. Click on “Tools” in the menu.
Select “Update from directory.” Navigate to and highlight the "Desktop" folder where the .bin file is stored. Click the “OK” button.
Check the box beside “Program Update” in the “AVG Update” window. Click “Update.”
Click “Restart Now” in the “Reboot” window to reboot your computer.
