How to Make an Avery Name Badge
Name badges are use all the time at conferences, networking events, school functions--almost anywhere. Name badges are simple devices used to easily identify and meet people at these functions. Avery has created an array of name badges from sticky name badges to name badges that have inserts for badge covering. You can increased the professional appearance of your name badge by using Microsoft Word.

Open a Blank Template

Click "Start."

Select "Microsoft Word."

Open a blank document.
Identify the Label Type

Select "Tools" from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Choose "Letters and Mailings." Then select "Envelopes and Labels."

Click "Options." A drop-down box will appear; make sure that "Avery Standard" is in the open window next to "Label Products."

Scroll down until you find the Avery product number. For example, 5385 - Name Badge. Click "OK." The product number is located on the upper right corner of your package.
Fill in the Label and Print the Badge

Type the person's name and any additional information in the blank space provided. You can choose any font design and size; just don't exceed the size of the box. Click "Tab" to move to the next box. Continue to fill in all of the desired boxes until complete.

Print a test page. Everyone's printer is different, print a test page to determine how you should load the Avery badge sheet into your printer. Next, load the Avery badge sheet into your printer. Click "File" then "Print."

Continue to print off each of your name badges until complete.
