How to Troubleshoot Startup in Windows Vista
Corrupted drivers or system files, newly installed software or errors in the registry can all prevent Windows Vista from booting properly. If Windows Vista fails to start, system tools such as Startup Repair or System Restore can replace corrupted or interfering system files. To troubleshoot Windows start-up, you should first attempt to resolve the issue with System Restore and then try Startup Repair if necessary.

Tips & Warnings
Even if your computer does not boot to the full version of Windows Vista, it may boot to Safe Mode. Safe Mode does not load all of the same drivers and files as does the full version of Vista.
