How to Fix the Windows XP GUI Boot Window
The Windows XP GUI (graphical user interface) boot window is the windows that appears when you first load up your Windows XP system. As part of the operating system, it can become corrupted by damage to the hard drive through physical accidents or viruses, necessitating a repair of its operating system files to restore it to working order. This can be done in around 20 to 30 minutes.

Insert the XP CD into the PC.

Restart the PC and press any key to boot from CD.

Click "Enter" to begin the repair of the GUI boot windows.

Select "F8" to re-agree to the licensing terms for Windows XP.

Highlight the "C" drive and press "R" to repair the OS files, including the GUI boot window files.
