Program your keyless entry remote.

The 1997 Nissan Maxima comes with a keyless entry system with a remote that fits on a key chain. When a remote is lost or broken it can easily turn into a costly visit to a mechanic or locksmith to buy a new remote and have it programmed. To avoid these high costs, purchase a remote from a dealership or online retailer and program it on your own. The procedure takes less than five minutes and multiple remotes can be programmed at one time.
