How to Make Santa Out of Old Plastic Soda Bottles
Christmas is often regarded as a time to give and be exceptionally kind to others. One way you can give back to the earth and make fun decorations for your home is by making soda bottle Santa Clauses. 1
Rinse and dry your soda bottle thoroughly. Fill it about halfway with sand and cap it tightly shut. Paint the entire bottle red. Use several coats if necessary to make the paint bright and opaque.
-
2
Paint the foam ball flesh colored and glue it to the top of the cap once dry; balls measuring 3 to 4 inches in diameter work best. Use black paint to make eyes and red paint to make a dot for a nose. Cut a small triangle of white faux fur and glue it to the bottom half of the ball under the eyes to make Santa's beard.

3
Cut a strip of black felt about 2 inches wide and long enough to wrap around the bottle without overlapping. Glue it around the center of the bottle where Santa's waist would be; this is his belt.
-
4
Cut out a rectangle of gold fabric and cut a smaller rectangle from the center of the fabric. You should have a rectangular gold "window." Glue this to the center of the belt in the front for a belt buckle.

5
Roll a square of red felt into a cone shape and trim away excess fabric so the base of the cone is flat. Glue the edges of the cone to secure it and glue the white pompom to the tip and a strip of faux fur to the base. Slip it onto Santa's head.
