How to Install a DirecTV Dish
DirecTV is a satellite TV service. Rather than receive a television feed through cables, the signal comes from uplinked and downlinked satellite signals. The signals are gathered by a satellite dish attached to a home or other type of building. The dish then sends the signal to a set-top box receiver that is connected to a television inside of the building. Hundreds of channels are available to viewers in this manner.

1
Choose a place to install your satellite dish. The DirecTV satellite is always located south of Texas. That means if you live in Miami, you must have a clear line of sight to the southwest; if you live in San Francisco, you must have a clear line to the southeast. To have a clear line of sight, the area should be free of trees, tall buildings and anything else that could block the satellite signal from reaching the dish.

2
Pre-drill holes into the spot that you would like to mount the dish.

-
3
Hold the dish in place and insert the screws into the holes in the mounting plate of the dish's arm.
-
4
Adjust the angle of the dish. It should point in a specific direction that aligns the concave dish with the satellite. You will have to contact DirecTV for this information. A link to DirecTV customer service is provided below. If possible, you can view the other DirecTV dishes in the area for an angle comparison.
