How to Write a Good Job Description Objective
Having a succinct informative objective that hones in on the information contained within the job description as a part of your resume is an important step in the job application process. Employers look at many resumes quickly. An objective that applies specifically to the job description can get your resume noticed and may prompt a hiring manager to consider you for an interview.

1
Add keywords specific to the job in your objective to help employers find your resume when they are searching job boards. When employers search job boards, they often look for specific skill sets and use common keywords to search resumes and candidates who have skills in those particular areas. Include keywords found in the job description as well as terms used in the industry.

2
Make your objective statement short and informative and include keywords geared toward the position you seek so the hiring manger will be interested in your resume when he reads it. Show you have the skills necessary to excel at that particular position. Vague objectives are useless to hiring managers looking to fill particular positions. Your goal is to use words that will inspire the recruiter to read your entire resume.

3
Show that you can add value to the company by including in your objective the keywords the company uses to describe itself. Inspire the hiring manager to consider you for positions now as well as in the future if placement cannot be made right away. Inclusion of your value can be a great way to showcase your skills as they relate directly to the job description noted in the advertisement.

4
Make multiple versions of your objective to tailor to job descriptions with different but similar keywords. The more objectives you have, the better chance you will have of catching the attention of a hiring manager. Using the same objective for every job is counterproductive and may not set you apart from the other candidates. There are idiosyncrasies in job descriptions that set apart seemingly similar jobs. Exploit those small differences by tailoring your objective.

5
Write a focused short objective if you are a student just out of school and lack work experience. The inclusion of an objective that narrows your reasons for applying can be beneficial to the hiring manager to show that you are willing to do what it takes to fill the job.
