How to cook frozen hash browns
It can be tough to know what to cook on a Saturday morning when the kids are being loud and you have only slept a few hours. But you can throw together something quick and easy that doesn’t require a chemical engineering degree to execute. Frozen hash browns are fast, easy and relatively mess free. All you need are the ingredients, a frying pan and about 10 minutes of your time. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Frying pan
- Frozen hash browns
- 2 table spoons of olive or vegetable oil
- Spatula
- Salt and other ingredients (such as bell peppers) to taste

Place a one inch layer of the frozen hash browns onto a warmed skillet. Drizzle the oil on top and along the edges of the pan.

Leave the heat on high for five minutes and allow to simmer without stirring. Additional ingredients can be added once the five minutes are up.

Flip the hash browns at the five minute mark, and allow them to sit for an additional five minutes. After the five minutes are up, flip them again to see if they are done.

Add a pinch of salt (to taste) and serve them up.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure not to leave the hash browns on for too long or they will burn. The final product should be light brown on both sides. If it is dark in color or too crunchy they may be burned.
Don't stir the hash browns as they cook or they will not brown evenly on both sides.
