Place a closed Bible face up in front of you. Measure from the right-hand edge across the width. Continue across the spine to the back of the Bible and across the back of the width of the Bible's, to the edge. Add a 1/2-inch to this total. Measure from the top edge of the bible to the bottom edge and add a 1/2-inch. Cut a rectangle of craft foam, using one measurement as the width and the other as the length.

    • 2

Measure and cut two pieces of craft foam, 3 inches square. Cut each square in half diagonally, to create four triangles. These will be the corners of the foam Bible cover.

    • 3

Lay the foam rectangle on your work surface. Lay one triangle on your work surface. Apply a thin line of craft glue on the side of the triangle facing up, along the two edges that meet to form the right angle. Place the triangle, glue side down, on a corner of the foam rectangle. Match the glue edges of the triangle with the edges of the rectangle corner. Press firmly to adhere. Repeat with the remaining triangles on the remaining corners of the rectangle. Allow the glue to dry. This is the inside of the foam Bible cover.

    • 4

Open the Bible and insert the Bible corners into the triangle corner covers. Close the Bible.

    • 5

Trace a 1/2-inch-wide-by-3-inch-long rectangle on contrasting craft foam. This is the vertical center post to a cross shape. Measure down the post an inch. Center and draw a horizontal cross bar, 1/2-inch wide by 2 inches long. Cut out the cross shape. The pencil marked side of the cross is the wrong side.

    • 6

Apply craft glue to the down side of the cross. Center the cross on the front of the Bible cover, with the glue side down. Press firmly to adhere. Allow the glue to dry.
