How to Display Wine Bottle Corks
Wine-lovers often have an overabundance of corks. They want to keep the bottles as decoration or the corks as mementos of special bottles or occasions. Corks are not usually recyclable and generally too bulky for most craft projects. You can display your wine corks attractively and give them a practical use as well by making them into a wine cork board. You can use these boards like bulletin boards or use them as heat trivets or attractive and original coasters. They are fairly easy to make and require very little time and few supplies. You can make a wine cork board display in a matter of hours.

1
Take the glass out of a deep wooden picture frame. The frame itself should be about 1 to 1 ½ inches thick to accommodate the corks. Dust the frame and back off with a soft cloth, leaving the back in the frame to make assembly easier.
-
2
Trace a line of wood glue across the back of two wine corks. Stick them to the backing in the upper left hand corner of the picture frame horizontally and snugged close together.

3
Add some glue to two more corks and stick them to the backing right next to the first two but vertically, creating the beginning of a cross-hatch pattern. Make sure the corks fit together tightly against each other and the frame.
-
4
Repeat, gluing corks alternately in horizontal and vertical rows until the entire picture frame is filled with corks. Allow the glue to set overnight before hanging or using.
