Instructions

    • 1

Examine the screws on the refrigerator door. Determine whether you will need a flathead screwdriver or a Phillips head (cross-shaped) screwdriver to remove the handle.

    • 2

Open the refrigerator door. Unscrew the screws that hold the top part of the handle to the door. Set the screws aside where you will not lose them.

    • 3

Hold the loose handle with one hand to secure it. Unscrew the screws on the lower half of the refrigerator door handle. Set the screws aside with the other so you will not lose them.

    • 4

Lift the handle away from the door. It should come away from the refrigerator door with no major hassle.

Tips & Warnings

  • Over time, sticky residue may form between your handle and your door. This residue may cause the handle to stick slightly even after you unscrew the handle. Give it a gentle tug until it comes loose.

  • Some refrigerator handles are fastened with nuts or sockets instead of screws. Be prepared with a properly sized socket to loosen the door if necessary.
