1
Get some reference images of the baby animals you want to draw and study them to see the elements of each baby animal. Simplicity and over-sized features on small bodies are the key to selling the "baby" aspect.
-
2
Reduce the body of the animal you are drawing to basic shapes such as squares, rectangles and circles. This will allow you to easily create a framework to build on. Try a range of different poses to see which one fits best. Keep your pencil work faint in case you need to erase.

3
Keep the body simple and relatively small. A large head can emphasize the baby aspect of the animal very well. Start to add in features such as the eyes, nose, mouth, paws, wings and mane if applicable.
-
4
Draw in large eyes on a large head. This is a good formula to follow for baby animals. Add in details that tell which animal your drawing represents.
-
5
Take your pen and draw over the pencil lines you wish to keep. Let the pen ink dry for a few moments to avoid smudging. You should be left with a clear line drawing of a baby animal.
-
6
Take your crayons, pens or paints and color in your animal. Use the reference images for accuracy.
