Upload video files from a miniDVD.

Sony has a wide range of digital video cameras, some of which record onto a miniDVD. This small DVD saves each video recording as its own particular file (same as a camera using a built in hard drive). Once you have finished recording on a miniDVD you can upload content directly to your computer. It is even possible to select an individual file to upload to your computer from the DVD.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on the Sony Handycam and eject the miniDVD from the camera. Remove the disc and power down the camera.

    • 2

Insert the into a computer with a DVD tray. You can not insert a DVD into a drive without a tray (such as a DVD drive found on Mac laptops or car stereo systems). This is because the smaller disc can move around the player without the tray.

    • 3

Click "Start," (My) "Computer" and double-click the DVD icon. This opens a window with all of the video files currently stored on the miniDVD.

    • 4

Click-and-drag the video file from the miniDVD to your computer. You can copy the file to any location you want, ranging from the desktop to a self created folder. Depending on the size of the video file the copying process can take a few moments to complete.
