How to Write a Resume for a Fast Food Job
In order to become employed within the fast food industry, or any industry, you must first outline and create a professional resume. A resume is provided by a potential employee to a potential employer so the hiring manager can quickly review your qualifications, education and job experience. While fast-food jobs are not the most difficult to obtain, creating a professional resume will further increase your chance of gaining employment.

1
Write your name at the top of your resume. In a word processor, select the center justification button, which will align your text on the center of the page.
-
2
Double space and press the left justification button, which places text on the left side of the page. In bold, write “Objective:” and then in one or two sentences write your objective for applying. A fast-food job objective could say “My goal is to provide outstanding customer service to all patrons while upholding the quality of service this restaurant has established.” Be short and concise in your objective statement.

3
Double space again and in bold print type “Work Experience.” List your work experience starting from the most recent, or current, employer. Write your current or past employer's name, followed by your position title and the dates you were employed. Underneath the employer title, write up to three responsibilities or duties you performed in this job.
-
4
Write “Education” underneath the work experience section. Within this section place all your education experience. If you only have a high school diploma, place the name of your high school, date graduated and any clubs or organizations you were part of. If you have a college education, place the name of the college, your major and your graduation date within this section; write “in process” instead of an intended graduation date if you are still attending school.
-
5
Create a “Job Skills” section underneath the education section. Write at least seven skills you possess that relate to your ability to work in a fast food restaurant. These may include computer efficiency, experience handling cash, strong customer service skills, and so forth.

Tips & Warnings
If you have no previous work experience, create a cover letter instead of a resume that highlights your education and skills.
Be completely honest within your resume. If you lie, your employer can easily find out by contacting previous employers.
