Decide whether you want printed or electronic baby shower invitations. If you want to print the cards, purchase heavy card stock to print them and be sure your printer is loaded with color ink.

Open Internet Explorer, Firefox, or the browser of your choice. Go to one of the many online invitation websites available. Creativity Portal and Invitationland offer templates for printable baby shower invitations, while evite, Purple Trail and Invite-o-Matic allow you to create online invitations to email. Many of the online invitations are more interactive and allowing you to upload personal photos, video and audio.

Find the baby shower invitation template on the website you chose. If there is not one, choose a generic invitation template that you can customize.

If the shower has a certain color or theme, be sure to incorporate it into your invitation. Enter all of the necessary information, including the host's name and telephone number, the guest of honor, the address where the shower will be held, the date and time of the shower.

Type a more personalized message if you wish, including other information such as where the mother has registered for gifts, an indication of games or activities planned, or any other special notes unique to the event.

Click "Preview" to view your finished invitation and check for correctness. If you are printing the invitations, click "Print," ensuring that your printer is loaded with card paper. If you are emailing the invitations, enter the email addresses or phone numbers of the guests, then click "Send."
