Switch to white yarn. To do this, cut your working red yarn and leave a four-inch tail. Pick up the white yarn and chain one with it, then single crochet in every stitch around for five rounds. Fasten off and weave in your loose ends using a large eye blunt needle. Fold up the white brim.

Attach the white yarn to the side of the hat, where you have folded it. Chain 40 and fasten off, then repeat on the other side. These will form the ties to hold the hat onto your dog's head.

Weave in all of your other loose ends as well, and the hat is ready to wear.
