How to Make a Pop Up Easter Card

Your friends and family will love handmade pop up cards for Easter. Your kids can do the decorating to create these cards that will make a wonderful addition to Easter gifts. The pop-up adds a fun extra element to the card, making it more creative and more memorable. You can use the same basic design for any holiday cards, just decorate them for the holiday you like.

Things You'll Need

  • Construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers, crayons, stickers, or other embellishments
  • Fold a sheet of construction paper in half width-wise, as you would to make a card.

  • Cut two short lines in the center, on the outside fold of the card.

  • Fold the two outside flaps to make a crease, but leave the middle flap intact. Unfold the flaps and open your card.

  • Push the outside flaps into the card. They form small stair steps.

  • Cut out Easter designs such as an egg, a chick, or a few flowers. Glue them to your pop-outs so when you open the card, they will "pop out" at the recipient. Embellish the front of your card with stickers, markers, and Happy Easter greetings.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make the pop-outs as large or small as you like, just cut the fold in the first step shorter or longer depending on the size of your design.
