How to Make Paper Boxes That Fold
Gift supply stores are often packed with colorful, creative gift boxes for every type of gift imaginable. Surprisingly, many of these gift types can be made at home from paper. For your next party, consider making a folding paper box. Fill the box with chocolates or other treats and give them away to guests.

1
Locate a template online for a "takeout-style" box and print it out onto card stock. If card stock is not compatible with your printer, cut out and trace the template onto the card stock.
-
2
Cut out the template along its outline. On the flaps that will form the top of the box, cut a small slit in the middle of the flaps.

3
Use a ruler and a paper clip to score the paper along the dotted and dashed lines. This will make it easier to fold the box as you go. Locate the four dotted lines that form a square in the center of the flat template. These lines will form the bottom of the box. Fold up the box along the four lines that form the bottom of the box.
-
4
Start at one corner and fold the dashed lines into the center of the box to make the sides stand up. Continue this process for all four corners of the box.
-
5
Fold in the flaps on the right and left side of the box. Fold the flaps on the top that form the box's folded lid. Secure one flap inside of the silt cut on the opposite flap.
-
6
Decorate the box using rubber stamps that complement the other decorations for the party or event where the boxes will be used.
