Visit the website at https://www.bankofamerica.com/index.jsp to log on. Note that the web address has an S at the end of the http (httpS), which signifies that it is a secure site. You do not want to log on to any online banking site that does not display the S, since this is how banks protect the security of your data.

Enroll in online banking if you are a first-time customer. You can do this by selecting the "Enroll" button from the menu. When you click enroll, you will be asked to select the location where you opened the account, as well as the type of account you have (bank card or check card; credit card; mortgage loan or line of credit; or other). Select the proper information and then select "continue enrollment." You'll then need to enter your account number, your Social Security number and other identifying information. Once you get through this screen, you'll be asked to select a user name, password, identifying question(s) and a picture that you will see when you log on to your account. You may also need to verify your email address.

Visit the home page of the Bank of America website to log on with your user name and password. On the main page, you will be asked to enter your user name and the state where you opened the account. Enter this and you will be taken to a screen that asks you the identifying questions you answered when you enrolled in online banking. Once you answer those questions, you can opt to remember that computer so you don't have to answer the questions again. You should generally only opt to remember the computer if it is a personal computer that you don't permit others to use. Don't select "remember" on a public computer, since then anyone using the computer could potentially access your information. You'll then see the picture you selected when you enrolled, which lets you know the website is legitimately a Bank of America website, and you can enter your password and log on.
