How to Make Your Own Lucky Charm
You may have your own lucky charm: an object or ritual that helps you focus and feel as though you're ready for luck to come your way. Some people carry objects that they think are lucky, such as a pen they've used successfully on a test, or an object traditionally associated with luck, such as a rabbit's foot or four-leaf clover. You can make your own lucky charm: a piece of jewelry that will help you feel lucky.
Things You'll Need
- Fabric in a color or pattern you find appealing
- Thread
- Needle
- Embroidery thread or cloth paint
- Small paintbrush (if you choose cloth paint)

1
Cut a 2-inch by 6-inch piece of fabric. Fold it once so it is 2 by 3 inches, with the side of the fabric that you want to be the outside of the bag on the inside of the folded piece. Sew the long sides of the fabric to form the bag.
-
2
With the bag still inside out, turn the fabric on the open end down a half inch to create a hem. Thread one end of the cording through the hem to create a simple drawstring bag that can be worn around the neck or kept in your pocket or purse.

Decorate your bag with embroidery or painted symbols that are meaningful to you and represent the sort of luck you would like. For example, a dollar sign if you'd like to be financially lucky, or a heart to summon luck in love. Use symbols that are meaningful to you.

While working on your bag, envision the sort of luck you would like it to bring. Imagine yourself in the circumstances that you'd like to see: getting a new job, publishing a book, or winning a contest, for example.
-
5
Fill your bag with small objects that have personal significance or memories of happy, successful, or lucky moments associated with them. As when you were decorating the bag, envision the outcomes you want while filling your charm bag,

Research gems to see whether you agree that they contain energies that make them appropriate to your lucky charm. If you do, add small gems to incorporate such energies to your charm.

Tips & Warnings
Wear your bag around your neck or carry it in a safe place, such as a purse pocket. Make sure it is tied securely to avoid the contents spilling out.
You can continue to add objects to your lucky charm after you have made it. If you do not intend to add more objects, sew the top closed to help keep the contents safe.
