How to Remove Engine Degreaser Stains From the Carpet
Engine degreasers are cleaning agents with solvent properties that help remove grime, oil deposits, dirt and paint from engines to keep the engine clean and running smoothly. Degreasers are oil-based, and when they stain, they leave oily blotches on all sorts of fabric. On carpet, degreasers typically leave an oily blotch and a slight discoloration. Put five drops of heavy-duty detergent on the stain.

Scrub the stain out with the wash cloth.

Spray some water on the detergent.

Blot with paper towels until the stain is removed.

Tips & Warnings
If the stain is bad, rub the detergent in and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then scrub the area with the wash cloth.
