Instructions

    • 1

Blot up coffee spilled on floor carpets using clean, absorbent cotton cloths. Turn the cloth to a clean section, or use a new cloth, and continue to blot until you soak up as much liquid as possible.

    • 2

Pour straight white vinegar into a spray bottle, then spray directly on the coffee-stained carpet, wetting it thoroughly. Allow this to sit while you attend to upholstery, the steering wheel cover, or any other plastic or vinyl surface where coffee landed.

    • 3

Spray glass cleaner onto vinyl or hard plastic surfaces inside your minivan. Use a clean towel or rag to wipe away the glass cleaner, coffee stain and any sticky residue. Push the rag down into crevices in the seat cushion to ensure you get all the coffee. If you have leather seats in your Chrysler minivan, use leather cleaner on them, instead of glass cleaner.

    • 4

Place a cotton cloth on top of the vinegar-soaked coffee stain and blot up the moisture. Turn to a clean section of cloth and continue to blot until there's no more transfer.

    • 5

Sprinkle baking soda on persistent coffee stains in the carpeting and work it in with a soft-bristled brush. Allow the baking soda to sit in the carpet fibers for 10 to 15 minutes.

    • 6

Vacuum the baking soda out of the carpet, using your vacuum cleaner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't worry about cleaning up spills while driving. Get to your destination safely, then attend to stains.

  • If the stain is very old and persistent, you may have to use a commercial product or have the carpet professionally cleaned.
