It is also possible to make a silver polish that is the of the same quality as professional-grade silver polish. Things You'll Need

  • Glass pan
  • Aluminum foil
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Hair spray
  • Spoon

Instructions

      Line a glass pan with aluminum foil.

      Pour 1 cup of boiling water into the pan.

      Add 2 tsp. baking soda and 1 tsp. salt. Stir well with a spoon until the baking soda and salt dissolve.

      Place your silver into the pan, and let sit for a few minutes.

      Take out the silver, buff it, and dry it.

      Spray silver with a light coating of hair spray, but only if it's silver for display only. Any silver that will be eaten with should not be sprayed with hair spray. The hair spray helps to keep silver shiny longer.
