Jewelry tags add a professional look to handmade jewelry. You can order them from a printer, but the cost can be prohibitive if you are just starting a jewelry business. Making your own jewelry tags is one way of reducing your operating costs. You can create professional looking jewelry tags with a printer and cardstock paper.
Things You'll Need
- Hole punch
- Thumbtack or straight needle
Cut a sheet of card stock paper into rectangles measuring 4 x 3 inches.
Make a hole about ½ inch away from one short edge of each rectangle. The hole should be centered.
Press the stamp into the inkpad, then press it onto each rectangle, about ½ inch under the hole. Wait for the ink to dry. Write the name of your company under the image.
Prepare some cards for earrings. Use a thumbtack or a straight sewing needle to make two holes for earrings on some of the cards. The holes should be under the image and about one inch apart.
Place bracelets or necklaces on some of the jewelry tags. Place a card face down on a flat surface. Fold the bottom edge up to a spot just under the hole. Place a necklace or bracelet into the fold. Staple the top edge of the fold to the card, under the hole, to secure the jewelry. Staple from the front of the card so the ends of the staple appear at the back of the card.
