How Can I Change My Name on YouTube?

You can change your personal name but not your username on YouTube.

YouTube requests minimal information when you sign up for an account. Once you have your YouTube account, you can then setup your profile with personal information such as your name, location, job, education and interests. You sign in to YouTube using your username, which is the only name that people see when you post videos or subscribe to another user's videos. Once you have selected a username, you cannot change it. On the other hand, you can change your personal name at any time.

Instructions

1. Sign in to your account using your username and password.

2. Click on your username, located in the right hand corner of the screen, which brings up a dropdown menu.

3. Click on "Account" to go to the Account Overview screen.

4. Click on "Profile Setup." You will now see your person profile information.

5. Click on "Personal Details." Make the necessary changes to your name.

6. Save your information by clicking on "Save Changes."
