How to Program an RCA DirectTV Remote Control
RCA is one outsourced manufacturer that produces DirecTV receivers. The remote control that comes with an RCA DirecTV receiver is a universal remote. This means that the remote has not only the ability to control the receiver, but it can also control other devices like your TV, DVD player, VCR or stereo. However, the RCA DirecTV remote must first be programmed in order to control those other devices.

Turn on the device you want to control with the RCA remote control.

Write the down the code for the device you want to program. Device codes are located in the user manual. See "Resources" if you don't have the manual anymore.

Hold down the device button at the top of the remote. For example, if you want to program your remote to control your TV, press the "TV" button.

Enter the device code while holding down the device button on the remote. The device LED light will flash four times if you've entered the code correctly.

Release the device button and press the "On/Off" button. The device should turn off.
