How to Use Line Count in Microsoft Word 2003
With the Microsoft Word 2003 word processor application, you can create several kinds of documents, such as an essay, novel, user guide, manual, poster and others. The application includes many features that allow users to change settings to meet specific preferences and tools to keep track of any changes within the document. The word count toolbar is a feature that also allows users to know the number of words, characters or lines that are present in the document.

Open the Microsoft Word 2003 application on your computer. Click on the "File" option and then click on the "Open" option.

Locate the document that you want to count lines for and then click the "Open" button. Use your mouse to highlight all of the text in the document.

Click on the "Tools" option and then click on the "Word Count" option. A dialog box will appear and show the number of words in your document.

Click on the "Show Toolbar" option from the dialog box to view the floating word count toolbar. Click on the drop-down menu from the toolbar and click on the "Line Count" option, and you'll see the number of lines throughout the document.

Click on the "Recount" option from the toolbar if you add more lines to your document. You can remove the toolbar at any time by clicking on the "X" option.
