How to Use the Bypass Proxy Server for Local Addresses

Bypass the proxy for local IP address connections.

Whenever you use a proxy in Internet Explorer, you can set it so that the proxy server is not used whenever you access local IP addresses. This is useful when you are on a local network and don't need to mask your IP address when connecting to other computers on the network.

• Proxy server IP Address and port number

Instructions

1. Open Internet Explorer and click on the "Tools" and then "Internet Options" buttons.

2. Click on the "Connections" tab and then click on "LAN Settings."

3. Click on the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox and enter the IP address and proxy number of your proxy into the window.

4. Click the "Bypass proxy server for local connections" check box if you don't want to use the proxy for local IP addresses.

5. Click the "OK" button two times to apply the settings changes.
